Squidoo And HubPages: Which One Is More Google Friendly

By Marc Marseille

The internet is full of social networking blogspots and communities, but two of the finest out there are Hub Pages and Squidoo. Both of these social Journal networks seem to have an imbalanced benefit when it comes to positioning well with the search engines. Along with Word Press, Ezine Articles, and of course Google Blogger, these two communities can get discovered just about instantly. The issue is not if they are successful forms of advertising but rather, which one lands the most damaging blow?

Hub Pages is a community for writers, bloggers, or anybody wanting to contribute something fascinating with the written word. Your blogs at Hub Pages are known as hubs. You can select from different modules to enhance the look and creativity of your hubs. Hub Pages allows you to add your adsense, amazon, and Ebay ID to you hubs to generate income from everyone who clicks or buys from your links. You can also add keywords to your hubs to make it simpler for the search engines to locate you.

Squidoo is also a community for writers and very comparable to Hubpages. The key dissimilarity between the two is that Squidoo refers to its websites as lens. Just like Hub Pages, you can create unlimited lens on any topic while earning additional income from adsense, amazon, and Ebay.

Squidoo is very Google responsive and allows you to insert up to 40 keywords to your lens to boost your search engine traffic. As you can notice, these two powerhouse, high pr social communities share several parallel characteristics; So what are the dissimilarities?

The differences begin with the earnings from your proceeds modules. Squidoo has a shared earning policy which divides the entire income between the whole Squidoo community depending on the ranking of your lens. The higher your lens rank, the bigger portion of the profit you collect. Hub Pages on the other hand permits you to keep 100% of your profit from adsense, amazon, and Ebay.

Another difference are the guidelines and policies. Hub pages is especially strict on self endorsement or over promotion of affiliate products. They will prohibit you quickly if your intent are to only present content for the exclusive purpose of spamming. Squidoo also frowns spammers, but they are more engaging to internet marketers who are interested in creating lens to promote their affiliate products or services. I guess you can say that Squidoo gives you a wider freedom of speech. Hub Pages additionally does not allow adult content.

Squidoo has recently strengthen their policies on the types of lens that they will accept. Examples of lens that use to be normal that are no longer welcome are: Lenses on grown-up content, medical miracle cures, and lenses with more than 9 links to the same web page. If you can reach giant squid prominence (50 lenses) than these set of laws may be waived.

Both Squidoo and Hub Pages present a place for like minded folks to bring their visions, outlooks, products or artistic views to the World Wide Web. The question of which one packs the most effective punch in my judgment, can simply be left up to each individual. I myself use both. Since both communities are without charge to join and free to network, I find it that it makes sense not to show prejudice. The decision between one over the next would be the equivalent of leaving currency on the table.
