Use The Power Of Giving To Market Your Business

By Don Wong

The increasingly adopted practice of giving corporate gifts is not as familiar to people as gifts given by everyone to near and dear ones. Corporate gifts are very distinct from individual gifts as they are a gesture of appreciation given to employees or customers.

Corporate gifts are typically expensive things and they do not carry any business symbol or brand name, as they are not meant for marketing or promotion. However, companies often do promotion through distribution of merchandise like pens, mouse pads, dongles, and other gifts to the staff and prospective customers.

Similar to any other gifts, the selection of a corporate gift also depends on the person to whom the gift is to be given. Corporate gifting should always be chosen with the receiver in mind. There's no point giving a gift - particularly a corporate gift - to an individual who will not treasure what we have gifted. We should be looking to create a 'WOW' wherever possible.

The perceived worth of a corporate gift is its most crucial aspect. It is this aspect which has the desired impact on the client or employee, helping to build and maintain a cordial working association with them. However, gifting is sometimes regulated by the law, so a confirmation with your legal department is worthwhile.

It is advisable to plan corporate gift-giving beforehand by allocating a budget, planning the number of gifts to buy, and looking for volume discounts with retailers. When it come to purchasing gifts for important customers, planning may not be as important, but for gifts to be given to staff it is necessary. It is important to make sure that there are enough gifts to express your thankfulness to every worthy employee.

In conclusion, the practice of giving a corporate gift to your customers and employees is a good option for building sound working associations. To sum up, the pass time of gifting gifts to your team members and clients is a great option for building and growing stronger relationships. Everyone always loves a gift.
