How To Deal With Cockroach Menace In Your House

By Allan Keithly

Cockroaches are one of the most irksome insects that are found in every part of the globe without an exception. They normally live in humid and dark areas of a house and eat any and every type of organic matter. They are carriers of germs of many diseases and damage food and other items in the house. Hence, there is a need for eliminating the cockroach problem permanently, so that they do not come back.

A Lot Of people in dealing with the cockroach menace turn to usage of chemical insecticides that are equally harmful for human beings, particularly for the children and household pets. Therefore, it is usually a better idea to take recourse to natural ways of eliminating cockroaches from the house.

Your can start by seeing that your sink is clear and by washing your utensils as soon as you are done with your meals, besides maintaining general cleanliness of your kitchen and the areas below your sink. The spaces in and around the kitchen sink, being wet and dark provide cockroaches an ideal home to live and grow in numbers. You must also keep food in tight containers and other organic stuff well covered to sever the food supply of cockroaches.

It is necessary that you close all the gaps and fissures, especially around your water pipes to ensure that the cockroaches can't use these as entry points. You must also make sure that you stop the cockroaches from finding a fertile breeding ground by keeping your sewers and the areas surrounding it dry and clean. If there are common litter bins or dumping areas near your home then you need to find a way to remove them, as with these being present, your house is quite likely to be invaded by cockroaches.

Finally, if you have to use chemical substances despite all these precautions then go for milder chemicals such as boric acid instead of the stronger ones usually available in the market.
