Will Your Package Travel Safely? Better Use Some Bubble Wrap.

By Melinda Stockwell

Sending valuable packages in the mail to your family and friends can be very risky. Packages get tossed around and could get dropped very hard during transit. If you want your package to arrive at the destination unharmed then you should definitely consider how you pack it. Bubble wrap is a packing material that can help keep your items safe. You can rest at ease with the thought that it will get there safe.

Bubble wrap is a packing material that not all people have used before. It comes in long rolls and can be perforated into square strips. It is, essentially, a long piece of plastic that has pockets of air to act as a buffer in your box. It will absorb some of the bumps and bangs that occur in the transfer. You can find bubble wrap that has really large pockets of air or very small ones.

If you have large items that you need to ship, the larger bubbles will probably be the better choice. The small air bubbles are great for wrapping small items or fitting into a tight spot. It is more flexible than the large bubble wrap.

Be sure that you pack your packages very well before you send them in the mail. Put some of the bubble wrap down on the bottom of the box and then carefully place your item or items on top of it. Stuff the sides of the box full of bubble wrap as well. Before you close the lid you should put a layer of bubble wrap on the top so that all sides are secure from the dangers that occur during transit.

When you have packed your items safely you will be all ready to ship it. If you are not sure if you packed it correctly or if you are just not comfortable packing the package yourself, you can make use of the services of your post office or local package store. They can supply you with bubble wrap and other items that will ship your boxes safely.

Bubble wrap can save you money in shipping costs as well. Once you receive a package that has bubble wrap in it or you purchase some bubble wrap, you can continue to use it over and over again. If the air pockets do not get damaged you can use them in the next shipment that you send out.

Be sure to inspect the bubble wrap to be sure that the air pockets are still full. Sometimes they can pop and cause a flat spot in the packing materials. If you used the damaged bubble wrap it is a strong possibility that the package that you are sending will arrive broken. If your package contains an item that you have sold to someone and it arrives broken then you could end up having to replace the item for them.

There are a lot of retailers across the states that use bubble wrap to get their goods to thousands of customers. Their items are sent out daily with the security that the bubble wrap will keep their goods in good condition until they reach their destination. Using bubble wrap is a great idea. You should try it on your next shipment!
