Sugar Cane Alley: Beautifully made, heart felt drama in regards to an 11-year-old boy and his all sacrificing nana, getting by in a Martinique shantytown throughout the 1930s. The film is a humanist drama of the highest request. Cast includes Precious Legitimus, Garry Cadenat, Routa Seck, Joby Bernabe, and Francisco Charles. (107 minutes, 1984)
