MLM Home Business - Is MLM the Most Reasonable Home Based Income Opportunity for You?

By Eldon Beard

When someone talks about "MLM" or "multi-level marketing", what thought comes to your mind? MLM describes what many have found to be a very profitable and rewarding type of home business. What you think of it depends a lot on what you've heard or experienced in the past.

Many people, when asked about MLM, immediately think of one of the industry giants - Amway. While Amway in and of itself was a good company with a pioneering opportunity, it got a bad reputation due to secretive and questionable recruiting practices that were used by some of the independent distributor organizations. This often led people to believe it was little more than a scam.

When told about a home income opportunity, were you ever:

- given a brief verbal presentation about a generic MLM opportunity, invited to a formal meeting, but butted heads with a brick wall when you tried to find out even the name of the company first?

- given an invitation to attend a business opportunity meeting, and asked simply the name of the opportunity, and were given some evasive answer such as "Jack's Wealth Associates"?

- treated like you were stupid if you dared to ask perfectly legitimate questions about the business?

- attended a MLM business opportunity meeting and been almost to the end before the "A" word was mentioned?

There is a reason that distributors have taken this approach. They were coached with a system that taught them not to reveal the name of the opportunity before the meeting, because the prospect might have some misconception that would stop them from coming.

The bad news is that all of this made this company, and MLM in general, look shady.

Let's move forward and consider how things are today. It has never been an easy thing for most people to get prospects to a MLM opportunity meeting. This is another reason the curiosity approach was developed. However, in today's world, people are busier than ever and don't respond to that approach like they once did.

The good news - despite all the busyness in our society today, there are lots of people out there looking for additional income and financial security. They are no longer looking so much at newspaper and magazine opportunity ads - they are going online to find what they want. This opens a huge door of opportunity for you.

Would MLM as a business be good for you? See how you feel about the following things.

- do you like to work with people?

- would you feel comfortable talking to business opportunity seekers who come to you for details about your business?

- is making more money or even developing a full-time income really important to you?

- are you open to learning the fundamentals of success in MLM? It's hard work but well worth it.

If this sounds good, take a deeper look and find out more about how MLM works, and what it takes to choose a good opportunity and be successful.
