Choose The Right Tool For Optimizing Your Search Engine Optimization Campaigns

By Michael Fleischner

Achieving success online is easy for some and difficult for others. Why is this the case you might ask? It all comes down to having the right tools that get the job done. This is true of most things in life and especially true when it comes to online marketing and SEO. The good news is that there are very powerful SEO tools on the market today that cost very little to own or use.

Learn about your website. It has always been amazing to me that you don't know as much about your own website as you think you do. Not only do you need to know how your site is constructed, but its also beneficial to inspect the foundation. From my perspective the foundation is the code upon which a web site is built. Check your site against W3C standards to ensure it meets basic coding standards.

Use tools that can provide a solid understanding of on page optimization factors. Even if you can build links to your website quickly from high ranking websites, your search ranking may be temporary without adherence to the proper on page factors. Consider the basic factors like your meta tags, page load times, and use of keywords throughout your page. Make sure the online SEO tool you use can run an analysis on these factors for you on a regular basis.

Google likes it fast. Don't make your web site pages overly complex. Pages that contain a lot of elements and large files rarely if ever achieve number one rankings. Google rewards pages that are quick to load and can provide users with value. This value is calculated across more than 120 different elements and changes frequently. These criteria generally aren't a factor if a page loads slowly.

Submit your site to search engines. I wouldn't spend too much time on this one. And in fact, I recommend submitting only a new website. Submitting a new site to search engines is beneficial so they know to crawl your web site. Some web site owners feel as though they need to resubmit their site on a frequent basis. I have never found this to be productive and have achieved top positions on search engines without it.

Build links to your web site. Generating in-bound links to your website is the true key to being successful through search engine optimization. This is especially true if the inbound links are from sites with a high Google page rank. The Google PR value determines the quality of the link. If enough links of sufficient quantity are pointing to your website, then search engine results will improve.

Succeeding with Search Engine Optimization requires the use of proper tools. Whether you're looking for a basic tool that can tell you how quickly your site loads or a more complex tool with all the bells and whistles, you must first begin with the end in mind. Determine the most important aspects of SEO where you are going to spend your time and energy. Then, find the right tools to meet your needs.

Consider using SEO tools to improve the quality of your website and improve search rankings. The added benefit of using technology to improve your seo campaigns is that you'll save a great deal of time and frustration. Choose your tools and objectives carefully to achieve the outcome you're looking for.
